I met Malea in 2015 when I first moved to Provo. We happened to be random roommates and were shocked when we learned that our mother's were actually very close friends. They had met in the early 80's in Spain and, although going their separate ways and living states apart, they stayed in touch through the years. Even though I had heard of Malea and seen many photos of her, January 2015 was the first time we had met in person and it was just by coincidence that we were roommates. Since then she has been a dear friend to me!
Over the years I have gotten to watch Malea and Garrett's love story unfold. I'm pretty sure that from the moment Malea met Garrett, she knew she was going to marry him. In March of 2018 I asked them if they would model for me. That night, unplanned, they went and picked out a ring. I like to think I jumpstarted the rest of their lives together! 😉 It was only a few weeks later that Garrett was secretly texting me asking if I could help with the proposal. It was honestly so magical! I helped string lights in trees, spread rose pedals around, and hang up a string of photos from their time together. Then when the time came, I was there to photograph the whole thing.
A few weeks ago we were reminiscing on all those memories during this shoot. Malea and Garrett are STILL the perfect couple. They compliment each other so well and they are truly some of the kindest people you will ever meet. I feel so lucky to have these two as friends. Enjoy some of my favorites from their winter shoot!
